There’s something about a new season and new shoes to go with it – right? Just makes us HAPPY! As does Spring!
The fashion runways showed lots of trends for the upcoming Spring 2014 season, but do all trends work for you? The short answer is NO. Fashion runways are filled with designers that express their art through clothing. It doesn’t mean we are to wear that art. However, ready-to-wear designers use these runway fashions to create pieces that we can wear and add to your wardrobe to keep it up to date and stylish.
There are really too many Spring trends to mention so I am going to concentrate on my top 5 picks for adding to our wardrobes in the Spring. Based on your personal style, you will need to choose which one(s) you will add to your wardrobe this year for a quick update that will keep you in style and in season.
This classic look has been around for a long time and continues to be strong. Don’t just think about wearing it head-to-toe but rather think statement pieces (jackets, necklaces, handbags and shoes). Why does it work? The neutral color is great for everyone and can be more than just a jacket. (Like this Black & White Dress!)
This soft, feminine trend is a nice touch for the warmer temperatures. Keep it simple by adding a pastel blouse, skirt, or dress to pair with your black or white pieces. Why does it work? where to buy ativan online in canada Everyone can find a pastel piece to update their current wardrobe but if pastels don’t work for your skin tone, keep it away from your face by adding a pastel skirt, handbag, or shoe.
I for one love this trend that continues from fall and winter because it is a welcome break from the 3-inch heels I also love. To keep it modern, choose pants and skirts that show as much of your foot and ankle as possible. Why does it work? This shoe is flattering on the foot because the streamlined pointy-toe gives the leg a longer appearance. (Love these mesh flats!)
These menswear-inspired shirts take on a more feminine look by adding a cool, contrasting color collars and cuffs. Why does it work? It adds interest and color to your wardrobe and can be worn casually or in the office (all buttoned up). (Like this cool and colorful – in a good way! – button down)
The long coat minus the collar and lapel has been around for a while but is making a strong comeback this season in solids and vivid prints. Why does it work? You can wear it for business with a skirt, to dress up pants, or go casual with skinny jeans or leather pants.
