Girlfriends – How ya doing with your Christmas shopping? Or Hanukkah presents? Or just Holiday gift giving?
The holidays present a lot of challenges for us busy women – how to find time to shop (plus decorate, cook, bake, send cards, go to parties, etc.) – and how to find that perfect present for each person on our list. A personal present is a wonderful way to show friends and family that you made the extra effort to get them something they love.
So, when given the challenge to go on a $200 shopping spree at Sears*, I assumed I’d get a bunch of my holiday gift shopping done. Kinda did, and kinda got some gifts for me 🙂
I chose to shop online – I much prefer that to driving across town to the neighborhood (and online) North Pole, aka: Sears. Sears.com is a great site with very intuitive design/support. And, I love that I left it for a day and it didn’t time-out on me – yeah! A site that actually is user-FRIENDly! (Follow them on Facebook for more holiday shopping scoop!)
What did I get? Some great ‘stuff!’ First, I’ve been decorating the tree the last couple days. (It’s a multi-day project when I’m a busy girl). I just unpacked my most treasured ornaments – by designer Patience Brewster. I LOVE her funny animals (I only put Animal ornaments on my tree – note: MY tree. My poor husband has ornaments other places in the house.) I was surprised to see her on the Sears site – I thought her designs were difficult to find. Now I know where to shop!
I bought the Patience Brewster Joyful Flying Pig Christmas Ornament. At $49.99, it’s $20 cheaper than the regular price. (I know, that’s a lot for an ornament, but it’s the one annual holiday decorating tradition that I love and cherish the others that make my tree so fun!) I have to tell my girlfriend Becky about Sears.com – she collects Patience Brewster ornaments too!
Next, I couldn’t help myself but buy this Cashmere Sweater – a Christmas gift for me! It’s 100% cashmere and only $53.99. It comes in ten rich colors and I think will be the perfect top for everything from jeans to dressy pants/shirts with a scarf to accessorize it. Can’t wait to wear it and at $53.99 – it’s a great deal!
I’ve been traveling a bit this year and my suitcases have seen better times – especially the suitcase with only one operational wheel! I couldn’t resist these Forecast Fiji Luggage Collection in magenta (pink!). (I only wish it came in Girlfriendology orange!) At this price, $49.99 – it’s $70 under the regular price! AND – when I checked out it gave me the option of picking it up at a local Sears so I wouldn’t have to pay for shipping! (See Guarantee info below.)
My last purchase was a gift for my husband (who doesn’t read my blog – but if he did, I tell him I’d like one too!) – Bios Fitness Two Touch Heart Rate Monitor. It gives caloric/heart info without a chest strap and will give him proof that he’s spinning like a crazy man! It was $59.99 – right in-line with other heart rate monitors.
That brought my total a little above the $200 gift card shopping spree allowance but such great deals, I couldn’t resist! The shipping (without the luggage – which I can pick up at a local Sears and has a five minute delivery guarantee – see below) was $13 – well worth it for saving me driving time, shopping time, gas, aggravation with traffic and parking, etc. WELL WORTH IT.

Overall experience of Holiday Shopping on Sears.com – EXCELLENT. Great site that was easy to navigate and lots of information and close-ups of all the products. They also have Land’s End products – which is so cool! And … Kmart, Sears Outlet (where we’re purchasing our new oven!), The Great Indoors and MORE! (Plus, they have the “Shop Your Way Rewards” points which earn you for purchases off all their sites – SWEET!) Great holiday shopping experience. I’d DEFINITELY recommend to my girlfriends!
Disclosure: I did receive a $200 Sears gift card for this shopping spree in exchange for blogging about it. As with all our product reviews and opinions, to be honest, we only share what we’d sincerely tell a girlfriend.
