LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS GIFTS, HANUKKAH PRESENTS
So you’ve trimmed the tree, sent out all your Christmas cards, ate more than your own weight in sugar cookies, you are a Christmas machine! Checked off your gift list? Not so much. But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time to polish off your gift shopping.
See while all those saps were out early shopping and wrapping up their presents, you were busy merry making and enjoying the Christmas SPIRIT instead. We’re all winners here. So sit back, make some cocoa and follow these simple tips to finish your holiday gift shopping faster than you can say “Good King Wenceslas.”
- Take advantage of technology – Ordering online is easy and crowd-free, plus it allows you to search for the best deals without going store-to store with the click of a button. And if you’re really in a time crunch, many stores are offering in-store pick-up of online purchases through the 24th of Dec, so you won’t have to worry about the cost and delay of shipping.
- Wrap it up – Sure it’s fun to get creative with gift wrap, my go-to is brown grocery bags and some stamps, but many stores also offer gift-wrapping services both online and in-store with purchase. It’s a great way to save money and avoid paper cuts.
- Go off hours – Whether that means the mornings or evenings, you’ll have more space to peruse the merchandise and see what other shoppers may have missed in their Christmas frenzy.
- Grab a Girlfriend – if you’re finishing up shopping for the family, bring along a friend and some comfy shoes. With the two of you to scope out the gifts you’re looking for, you’ll get done in half the time and twice the fun.
Not to toot my own horn, but over at Gifts.com, we have the option to search by “Same Day” Gifts. Which features everything from flowers, gourmet food, Of-the Month-Clubs and tons of cool experiences sent via digital gift card. This is a great option for those who are really strapped for time. – Handpicked Holiday Gifts (that you can order at the last minute!)
Entertain Them: No, I’m not suggesting you don a top hat and cane, but rather give them something they can enjoy all year-round in the form of media gifts.
For the screen lovers: I’m sure they’d appreciate a membership to Netflix steaming service or Hulu Plus where they’ll have access to great shows and new movies.
For the Bookworms: Everyone’s all about the e-readers these days, so instead of just buying the latest best-seller, give them an eBook Gift Certificate and let them download their favorites.
And last, but certainly not least; share a piece of you. Everyone has their favorite book, an album they love, a restaurant dish they crave, why not let your friend in on the things that inspire you in life.
Good luck and happy gifting!
