But plan ahead, and have a fun idea, and somehow they'll juggle kids, meetings, meals and guyfriends to join you and your girlfriends.

Try something simple like an impromptu girls night out happy hour or carry-in dinner. Visit a new restaurant or a favorite hang-out. Go to a wine tasting or gallery opening. Hit a ball game or meet at the mall and just shop together. Or plan a time out of town - go shopping in another city or find a cabin and just hang out with your friends. No rules - just make it fun and stress-free for you and them.

Kick it up a notch with a little extra planning and creativity. Bring in a chef for a cooking lesson. Have everyone bring a bottle of wine, cover the bottles with tin foil or paper bags, and have your own wine tasting. Make a list of strange items and have a scavenger hunt (even at the mall!). Get manicures together. Put the craftiest girlfriend in charge of a creative project to make together.

Need to set a schedule so you stay in touch better? Start a book club or Mommies group. Take turns planning a quarterly (or monthly) girls night out. Volunteer together or take classes together (yoga, cooking, French - whatever you'll enjoy learning together). Make every birthday a group celebration and take time out for your girlfriends. Girlfriendships are worth celebrating!
