About Girlfriendology - girlfriend appreciation, inspiration and celebration

Women ‘get it.’ We need our girlfriends. They bring us joy, love, laughter and even offer health and stress relief. “Inspiration, Appreciation and Celebration of Girlfriends” is the goal of Girlfriendology. We want to promote strong, supportive female friendships. We’d like to encourage you to spend more time with your female friends, to share more with each other and to appreciate the great gift of female friendship.

In 2006, Debba Haupert started Girlfriendology in response to being so blessed with great girlfriends. Through research and reading, she learned that this need for girlfriends was biological. Women have a true need to have community with each other. In fact, in the book  “The Tending Instinct” by Shelley Taylor, it is shown how we ‘tend and befriend’ as a natural part of our DNA.

Also, as just part of human nature, if you know people, you care more about them – right? Well, friendships fostered through Girlfriendology and girlfriends make us more compassionate, aware, caring and peace-minded. Together we can change the world – one friendship at a time. (And already women are coming from South Africa, England, Egypt, India, Iran, Japan and everywhere in between!)
